About Travel Merak

Travel Merak was created out of a passion for travel and “merak” in life. The concept of merak was instilled in me at a young age by my parents. They would always remind me that the greatest pleasures in life come from the simplest things. As a family, we traveled to unique destinations and I was mesmerized by new countries and experiencing different cultures. I realized what brings me happiness and fulfillment is traveling - the most amazing feeling for me is when my feet hit the ground in a new and exciting destination, ready to explore everything it has to offer. 

Through my adventures, I’ve learned that the process is overwhelming and challenging if you are not well prepared. It can be daunting to land in a new destination - especially a foreign country. I often asked myself questions like: what should I bring? How can I travel with only my carry-on? What are the best sites to see? Are there any important cultural differences I should be aware of? Thus, extensive pre-trip research to compile guides became an essential part of the trip-planning process for me. 

And so, Travel Merak was born and is here to share the wealth of knowledge I have accumulated over the years with you and to answer any and all of your travel questions and curiosities!
